Overview

Through the story of the main character, who cannot feel guilty about constantly telling lies, readers can think once more about the value of honesty.

Book Intro

We find out a cheerful boy named Donggu in the book The End of a Lie. Donggu is flustered because he has forgotten his homework. He becomes competitive when he plays basketball with his friends, and he loves pranks. However, Donggu has one bad habit. That habit is to tell lies without feeling anything. He doesn't want to be scolded for forgetting his homework or for his pranks, and he doesn't want to lose any of his basketball games, either. For these reasons, Donggu tells lies as if they were nothing. Sometimes he even tells lies to cover up personal errors or faults, telling himself I could have gotten in big trouble. The End of a Lie shows us the reason why we ought to live honestly as we read the story of Donggu and receive the message that contains the importance and values of being honest.

Quand j'étais jeune, on me disait souvent que j'étais distrait.
