Lomiard, a knight aspirant, sets out to the ice castle where the beautiful yet cruel Ice Mage lives, following his mother's dying wish. Led by a bear with fur as white as snow that he meets near the ice castle (or was he kidnapped?!), Lomiard barely makes it to Larmanilla's ice castle. There, the ruthless mage orders Lomiard to make soup. Unexpectedly, Lomiard's cooking pleases the mage's heart, leading to a contract where he becomes a cook instead of a slave in the ice castle.
