- Book Intro
-
This book, the 41st book of poetry in the Munhakdongne Poetry Collection series, presents a new paradigm in Korean poetry. This is Park Sang-soo's second book of poetry following his award-winning poem in 2000 (Dongsuh Literary Award) and critique in 2004 (Hyundae Literary Award). This book takes a multi-faceted look at the experiences of young girls in today's world.
Through this book, readers will endure the hardships faced by the generation that the author refers to as ladies. Although these so-called ladies have grown socially and personally, they're still stuck in a strange, clumsy phase between childhood and adulthood. Readers will gain an insight into themselves as the girls attempt to find their footing in a society where they are neither marginalized nor privileged. The book includes poems such as Somewhat Familiar>, Easily Jaded>, Summer of the Rosicrucianist Choir>, and Will the Light Guide Us?>
