(English) Z-Camp

Minseon, a middle school student in Seoul, falls to her death. A state investigation reveals that the incident was caused by an outbreak of a highly contageous zombie virus, known as Z-virus. When a dormant Z-virus is activated, it causes hormonal imbalances, inducing dillusion and rage. When the symptoms further develop, the host grows violent and attacks its fellow humans. Further investigation exposed that Minseon was bullied in school, and all the perpetuators are infected with the virus.

Pressed by the urgency to manage the spread of the virus, the administration launches "Z Desk" in coordination with the school under the guise of disciplinary action for bullies in Z-camp located on an island, nominally to receive group consulting and psychological treatment following the death of a fellow student. However, the true purpose of the camp, put together by Z Desk, is to quarantine the infected students and prevent the spread of the virus. Not knowing that they are carrying a fatal virus without treatment, the children are sent to the camp.

There are seven perpetrators involved in the bullying incident. However, the story is narrated from the perspectives of the main five: Jeonghyeon, the leader of the group and the ring leader of the bullying; Daeun who betrayed her friend Minseon to join the group; Gyuri who became jealous when Jeonghyeon became closer with in Daeun; Dodam, whom Jeonghyeon pursues; and Youtaek, Jeonghyeon's cousin and a bystander.

During the camp, an instructor prepares a game of deceit under the guise of group consultation. Each participant shares a story in turn -- either a truth or a lie. The storytelling exercise reveals the social hierarchy as well as Jeonghyeon's true self hidden behind her confident and graceful appearance of the group leader. The revelation of how Jeonghyeon is an ordinary girl striving to get Dodam's attention and how Dodam was behind the bullying leads to an emotional outburst from the other participants. Z-virus breaks out at the same time, leading to a chaotic biting frenzy between the children-turned-zombies.  

A month after the biting incident, all the children wake up in a hospital. Everyone but two -- Youtaek and Gyuri -- do not have a memory of the incident. The government finds the benefit of extracting antibodies from the two who were asymtomatic. It is unknown whether there is a correlation with the antibody, but the two also showed signs of guilt. 

서울의 한 중학교. 민선이라는 아이가 갑자기 추락사 하는 사건이 발생한다. 정부의 검시 결과 강력한 전염성을 가진 Z 바이러스 즉, 좀비 바이러스에 의한 발병으로 판명된다. Z 바이러스는 사람들 안에 잠복해 있다가 호르몬의 균형을 깨뜨려 환각 증상이나 분노 반응을 일으키고, 증상이 심해지면 주변 사람을 물어뜯는 잔혹한 인간으로 변화시킨다. 민선이의 죽음 이면에 집단 따돌림이 있었다는 사실과 함께 왕따 사건에 연루된 아이들도 모두 바이러스에 감염되었음이 밝혀진다.

왕따 사건보다도 바이러스에 대한 대처가 더 중요한 정부는 학교와 긴밀하게 ‘Z 전담반’을 꾸리고 민선이와 관련된 바이러스 감염 학생들을 모아 외딴 섬에 위치한 Z 캠프에 보낸다. 아이들은 집단 상담과 심리 치료라는 이유로 어쩔 수 없이 캠프에 참가하지만, 전담반이 꾸린 캠프의 진짜 목적은 바이러스에 감염된 아이들을 격리 수용하여 더 이상의 희생을 막기 위함이다. 아이들은 백신도 없는 치명적인 바이러스에 감염된 줄은 꿈에도 모른 채, 캠프 장소로 향한다.

캠프에 참여한 일곱 명의 아이들 중에서, 이야기는 패거리의 우두머리이자 민선이의 따돌림을 주도했던 정현, 패거리에 들기 위해 친구인 민선을 배신한 다은, 그런 다은이에 정현의 관심을 빼앗겨 질투에 눈 먼 규리,  모두를 군림하는 정현이가  매달리는 도담, 정현의 사촌이자 모든 전말을 알고서도 방관했던 유택, 다섯명의 시선으로 진행된다. 

캠프에서 교관은 상담의 일환으로 거짓말 게임을 준비한다. 아이들은 거짓말일지도, 사실일지도 모르는 이야기들을 돌아가며 털어놓는다. 그러다 이야기를 통해 아이들 세계의 권력층이 드러나고, 항상 고고하고 당당했던 패거리의 우두머리 정현이조차 도담이의 관심에 목마른 보통의 아이였음이 드러난다. 민선이 따돌림 사건도 도담의 사주로 벌어진 일이었다. 정현이에 대한 환상이 무너지면서 아이들의 감정이 폭발할 때, 바이러스는 발병하여 아이들을 좀비로 만들고 서로 얽히고 설켜 물고 뜯는 광란의 상태에 빠져든다. 

모두가 물고 뜯긴 뒤 아이들은 한달 후 병원에서 눈을 뜬다. 모두 기억을 잃었지만 이 사건을 기억하는 둘이자 발병하지 않은 둘, 유택이와 규리에게 정부는 항체의 가능성을 본다. 그리고 항체와 관련이 있을 지는 모르겠지만 그 둘에게서 ‘죄책감’을 느낀다는 공통점을 발견한다.
