Book Intro

Idols Backstage

Captivating to international audiences, the K-pop idols' stage is glamorous from a distance. Up close, however, an idol sweats as he or she refines the smallest dance moves unseen. Idols Backstage is a collection of  K-pop journalist Park Hee-Ah's observations and records of K-pop idols. The author provides an overview of the past and the present of 54 individuals who strive to become artists on- and off-stage. The author captures a youth who strives backstage to pave his or her way. Idols Backstage offers an opportunity to K-pop lovers to re-confirm their fandom to their stars as well as to sympathize with people with the celebrity title.

Recommendation

Kim Su-Jung (Journalist, CBS No Cut News) 2022 : Journalist Park Hee-Ah attentively examines issues, meticulously selects her language, and clearly communicates the meaning of her observations and insights. The individuals in the book are unique and diverse. However, it is Park's talent and the outcome of her painstaking endeavors to discover their humanity. Cheers to Park's work of diligently pursuing writing that she can't help but love with her tender passion.

Kim Yoon-Ju (Journalist, Channel Yes) 2022 : After reading this book featuring every one of the 54 individual idols, I realized that Journalist Park Hee-Ah strives to examine the true person built through time-tested efforts, rather than make an easy review. This book is about today's K-pop and the people that live with passion.
