(English) The Last Dodo
This book tells the story of the dodo bird that became extinct by humans. The story of the dodo bird that lived on the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean until 1861 is captured in intense colors. The author examines human destruction of nature through the story of the dodo bird, which eventually went extinct after humans set foot on the island.

1681年までモーリシャス島いたが、今は絶滅してしまった最後のドードー鳥の物語である。ドードーが流す黄色い涙、神秘的なカバリアの木が枯れていく様子は、一本の悲しいミュージカルを見ているようだ。この本を読んだ読者は、人間の都合に振り回される自然の重い警告を突きつけられるだろう。

Lee Sae-Mi
(English) Lee Sae-mi majored in Textiles at university and studied illustration at the Kkoktyillust Academy. She won the 2016 Korean Award for Hans Christian Andersen for her work Dodo Tree. Her illustration works include Good Day, When I Was a Baby and Goodnight. She wrote and illustrated The Half Island.
