Overview

The Best Winner of the 1st Sakyejul Picture Book Award Presenting sparkling heart of children on an ordinary day

Book Intro

One day, a child comes up with somewhat strange and weird emotion inside myself. A child suddenly loses the appetite of favorite ice cream in the world, and feels nothing about anything. What happens to this child, then? In this book titled, ‘I. F. B (I feel bored)’, the writer has freshly visualized words of expression in our daily life based on the letters of I. F. B to describe how a child feels in a transparent way. The writer has expressed rapidly changing emotions as letters during the day and those letters are piled up on the face of the child. The voice of the child who deeply looks into own mysterious heart provides readers with clear but warm feelings.

In this book, the story is presented by guessing riddles of emotions as if we all play scramble games. The process of the child finding out the whole words with individual letters is very interesting and easy to try. The child can come up with individual letters of alphabets and freely makes up words to express feelings. This book will help the child to feel rich emotions and express them out.

Most of all, this book stands out thanks to its fresh colors. The writer uses two main colors of pink and blue to realistically describe the child in daily life and simply visualizes letters to make readers focus on voices of the child. The child quietly says to herself in the beginning, but she is getting louder and braver to express how she feels. When we carefully listen to her voice while realizing the fun to play together, we can also be warmly touched by the child.
