Overview

A portrayal of everyday turmoil, arguments, and resolutions of everyday life through some forest friends.

Book Intro

(English) Spring Invitation

A frozen heart thaws with the coming of spring.

As new buds sprout, Mr. bear sends invitations to his forest friends. Mr. Deer, Ms. Fox, and the Rabbits. Shy, despite his size and looks, he doesn’t invite Ms. Mole, who didn’t greet him back before. Everyone has thought “maybe that person hates me,” at least once before, especially young people often struggle when they think their friend doesn’t like them back. Due to the misunderstanding, he removes Ms. Mole from the guest list. But through an emergency, she extends a helping hand, and they resolve their misunderstanding. And as the winter begins to thaw, so does Mr. Bear’s frozen heart. And he says, “spring is coming.”

(Japanese)

About the Author

Na Hyunjung

(English) Due to my fondness for reading and writing I graduated with a degree in Korean literature, and enthralled by the harmonization of text and image in the world of illustrations I began to draw. While working as an illustrator I have been drawing personal pieces on the themes of humans and the environment, relationships and memory. It seems that on the other side of those sparkling brightly, a desolate something holds its ground. Light and night, to meet and to depart, the different pairs that exist, I wished to draw an illustration of them embracing one another.
