Overview

This picture book features the Heungsu Child, or an Upper Pleistocene child’s skeleton, as a speaker who vividly depicts the Paleolithic era in Korean Peninsula.

Book Intro

This picture book features Hungsu Child, an Upper Pleistocene child’s skeleton discovered in the Durubong Cave site in Cheongwon-gun, Chungcheong-bukdo in December 1982, as a speaker who vividly depicts the life of the Paleolithic people.

Hungsu Child’s friend saessak and neighbors use various paleolithic tools for respective needs, which reflects that paleolithic people used tools depending on the necessity. Their life also shows us that paleolithic people hunted and ate animals, made fire to cook meat, block off access from wild animals, and made simple ornaments.

The author hopes that this book could give readers an opportunity to understand the root and origin of Korean history.
