Overview

Book Intro

Mi-Yoo decided to become a family with abandoned hamster right after meeting the hamster. Not long after, Mi-Yoo found out the truth that she also was adopted. Mom told her that it was nothing to cry about and Mi-Yoo also nodded. However, she felt sad and she could not even explain why. Therefore, when she felt sad at night alone, she told her secret to her hamster, ‘Hamlet’.

Mom says it is totally ok, but why do I feel sad? Where are you coming from, Hamlet?

I’m so sorry for bringing you to us without asking your opinion……

The writer has earned the respect with her unique world view based on her extraordinary style and fantasy. Through this book, the writer lets readers deeply look into the process of various feelings mixed in a child such as joy, sadness, and healing with her own delicate point of view. Children readers will be deeply touched by warm-hearted illustrations by the illustrator, Mo, Ye-Jin, because she created these illustrations from the beginning scene of Mi-Yoo and Hamlet meeting together for the first time to the ending scene of staying happily together by using the dream of mom just one day before she adopted Mi-Yoo.

While growing up, all the children cannot avoid sadness which cannot be comforted by anything someday. This book is about the story of beautiful people who seriously and kindly watch and help a young child to get over by herself while reflecting herself on a hamster, even a weaker animal.
