A children’s story that explains Hunminjeongeum and the principle of its creation in a fun and easy way.
- Book Intro
-
This book creates an imaginary setting where Hunminjeongeum Haerye, a guidebook for Hangul, the Korean alphabet, has a conversation with “area-a,” or “low-a” which was an abandoned letter, to explain the principles behind the creation of Hangul. The principles of Hangul are also easily described through references and examples. Moreover, this book mentions abolished letters such as “ieung,” “yeorin hieut,” and “banchieum,” which gives readers an opportunity to compare present-day Hangul with the original Hangul of the past.
