About the Author

Jeon, Geon Woo



(English) Jeon Geonwoo majored in maritime shipping management at university and worked as a reporter for a magazine. Jeon Geonwoo made his literary debut by publishing his short story ‘Light Sleep’ in Korean Short Horror Stories Vol.3 His writing is included in Korean Mystery and Thriller Short Stories. He has ventured into various other fields, even appearing on a popular TV program in Korea. He is the author of the full-length novels Storytellers of the Night, Whirlpool, The Curious Case of the Goshiwon, Salon de Holmes, the short story collections Alone at Night and Ghost Story Collector, and a collection of essays about his life and experience as a horror story writer titled I’m a Horror Story Writer. He won the 1st K-Thriller Writer Prize and published the horror-thriller Demon, which unfolds stories of people faced with fear. 

 

(Japanese) 大学で海運経営学を専攻し、6年間雑誌社で記者として働き、2008年『韓国恐怖文学短編選』、『韓国推理スリラー短編選』を通じてデビュー、本格的に作品活動を始めた。ホラー小説を書きながらも人間に対する暖かい視線を離さない思慮深い語り手だ。長編小説『夜の語り手たち』『渦巻』『考試院奇談』がある。

Jeong Yonghwan liked drawing since he was a little kid, so Jeong kept drawing and creating pictures of everything and finally became a picture book illustrator. Jeong has worked on a number of picture books that deliver knowledge and information with a humorous and witty manner.
