How does the human body work? This question has become the foundation of medical science today, with the development of biology, physiology and pathology. The Medical Science is after all about fighting the disease, so this knowledge is the assembly of the results of the diseases each progress were investigated and revealed of. The field of infectious disease covers questions such as why a fever develops, how septicaemia occurs ,and what inflammation is. Having written two volumes of infectious science, the first one covering clinical knowledge on the overall field of infectious diseases, and the second concerning about comprehensive understanding of antibiotics, naturally, the third one aimed to target the essence of infectious diseases. Actually clinicians fight with diseases, with less time to deliberate, because it is a battlefield that they are attending to. Furthermore, The diseases they confront don't develop as written in textbooks. Whenever the case comes off the track, he/she needs to keep a level head and be resourceful. This is when knowledge and experience and 'accumulated knowledge' comes in. This third book is written with the last virtue - 'accumulated knowledge' in mind. If I take a backward glance at my past memories of preclinical medicine and natural science, I might be able to find a clue to a treatment by recalling how human body works in the situation of sickness, even if it is developing irregularly. Eventually this volume is also about back to the basics. I always think that studying should be fun. Don't get obsessed on the rigid text, but explore the background of the knowledge, and it will help absorb the knowledge as your own. Thus, I have given my best efforts to approach this book more 'kindly', amusing you sometimes with jokes and comic strips I drew myself(I used to draw them in my school papers). Finally, I hope that readers will be able to approach this book more easily.
