This action-packed comic book tells the story that takes place in the Wild West during the turbulent pioneering period, it asks fundamental questions about humans and god. The story is unique in that instead of Europe that is the usual setting for the theme of divinity, the desolate wilderness of the West was opted for. With its exceptional choice of the backdrop and the dissolution of the traditional confrontational set up of good and evil, and the premise that there is no absolute good or bad, the series drew great attention from the beginning of its serialization.
It is a story of vengeance—a young priest, Ivan sells his soul to a devil in order to take vengeance on another devil who took everything away from him. The comic book is illustrated in a rough but seductive style that gets readers enamored with the young priest who may come off as being even more corrupt than the devil himself, for he will not stop his pursuit of vengeance even though he is violated time and again.
The character of Ivan who struggles between god and the devil and persists non-stop in his will to avenge the devil is not far off from men and it became the first Korean comic book to be filmed as a Hollywood movie.
