Overview

Book Intro

For a girl who does her hair for the first time in her life, what does a hair salon mean? Perhaps, the hair salon is a mysterious or scary place. The girl who got invited to her friend’s birthday party enters into the salon with complicated minds. A glamorous hair designer or various photos of hair-cut look also uncommon to her.

It’s not even comfortable to get a hair treatment. When we let a stranger do our hair, we may feel nervous and uncomfortable. Even if the artist lady talks to her to ease her up, she doesn’t get to be comfortable at all. Then, she concentrates on a small sound. “Crunch, crunch”. The group of hair on the floor remind her of leaves for some reasons. Once she begins her imagination, it gets bigger and bigger. The hair covered with perm product and papers to roll becomes a bird nest, and the hair rolls turn into various bones so that dinosaurs living in the woods get tasty. When she sits down under a round machine for heating, she imagines herself getting on a plane. Her time with the power of imagination finally pays off! Ta-da! Her hair looks good.

Witty and Cheerful Heart

Why does she do her hair? The story reveals the reason. She goes to the birthday party with her newly permed hair. The honor of the party is a boy who used to be made fun of by other friends, “You are a bomb-hair.” Readers can guess that she has a crush on the party owner just to watch her doing the same style of hair. She is very subtle to express her feeling, but seems very chic and says, “Hi! Bomb-hair!”. Her confession is never heavy and so cute. The cute couple is also seen in the back cover of the book, and their puppy love leaves us happy feeling.
