It is from expectations and beliefs about the author that people open this unknown book. This essay collection is written by Shiva Ryu, who continues to communicate with readers through poetry, essays, travelogues, and translation. The theme of this book is "the things that life tried to tell me."
If we can see the whole picture of our life, can we realize that a blocked road is actually a gift? The author says, "do not put a full stop where a comma belongs to." Because ourselves are more than just a problem. He shows insights on life which make hardship into laughter and awakening. It is said that essay is a free writing because it requires no extra efforts but to freely write as your pen wants to write. But some pen leaves a deep carving like an iron, and some burns impurities in your heart like a fire, making you think again on your past and future.
This book contains the author's experiences and realization that nothing in life is bad. The author tells us interesting episodes that gave him awakening. He kicked out from the faith community by people who mistook "poet" as "god." He used to live in a rented room without a toilet. He had to run to nearby university hospital every morning, and doing so he realized "being buried" and "sowing" is different. And in one Hindi class, he had to repeat "I am happy today" endlessly. And a voice saying "because only this will lead you to that" to his question of "why do you give only this?" And one truth. God has written each of our ways and following his signs will never make you lost. Another truth. You should not judge trees by their most difficult seasons, but when they bloom.
Some stories are interesting, some are memorable, some have a twist, and others are as impressive as tears. The poet opens our heart in just one sentence.
