- Book Intro

Phono Sapiens, written by engineering professor Choi Jaeboong, interprets rapid market changes in the past 10 years in terms of a new humankind, "Phono Sapiens,"through data analysis and insight into humanities and engineering. In the era of revolution, where one civilization changes into another, even if noone forced to do so, people stopped seeing TV and newspapers, and insted they chose smart phones as their media and information outlets. Also, they choseonline banking instead of going to banks. These choices are spreading at an unprecedented rate.
The root cause of these everyday changes is not made by a particular force, such as political power or capital. Thoses choises were made voluntarily by the new humankind, the Phono sapiens. This voluntary choice is what we call an evolution. Whether we want or not, we live in an era when a irreversible transformation of civilization takes plce. The choice between blocking and accepting is up to us, but the arrival of a new civilization is the future of mankind that has already been decided.
This book views the beginning of the Fourth Industrial Revolution from the perspective of changes to human beings. It examines the emergence and characteristics of new human beings andnew civilization, the changes in market and consumption behaviors by industry, and the success strategy and talents for the new Phono sapiens era. This will allow us to look into the world from the perspective of Phono sapiens, and to be smart rather than confused, and to see opportunities rather than crisis in this time of revolution.
