Overview

This book is based on the life lectures for husbands by Dr Kang Hak-joong, Korea's first household management specialist.

Book Intro

Why does my wife complain more and more, even though I do my best at work and at home? Why do I feel like there is an invisible wall, even when I do everything that my child asks? This book suggest solutions for men agonizing over how to be a good husband and a respected father. It includes clear instructions for creating a happy family without losing yourself to the duties of your job and your household.

The author Dr Kang Hak-joong is Korea's No. 1 household management specialist, having brought about positive changes for many families in crisis. When he was riding high as CEO of Daekyo Co., he realized that his life wasn't in line with his true aims, so he boldly resigned. Then, with "Home is also management" as its motto, he established the Household Management Center in January 2000, the first of its kind in Korea.  He is continuing to provide services such as education, counseling and lectures to help create healthy and happy families. While meeting numerous people over the past 20 years, he discovered one thing. Being a good husband is the starting point for leading a family into happiness. If you want to be a good father to your children, if you want to be a good child to your parents, you need to be a good husband first. Therefore, this book was written with husbands in mind. Problems or conflicts expected for each part of the family cycle are explained in stages, from having a child until that child grows up and gets married, and even including later years and death. Practical and real advice for each situation is provided.

What do you need to do to be a good husband? How can you balance work and family? How should you divide childcare and domestic chores? What are the solutions for husbands and wives in crisis, such as conflict, an extramarital affair or divorce? Strategies for every body who wants to make a happy family are disclosed, from husbands-to-be to middle-aged husbands who are desperately in need of solutions. A real life lecture on making a big joy from small changes is about to start.
