Overview

Who am I? How should I live? - this is the question Goethe posed to the world when he was around 40 years old.

Book Intro

This is a critical biography of the life of Goethe, a writer of great literature, and his works. It is also an opportunity for the writer, Lee Namseok, whose work crosses the boundaries of various fields and knowledge, to give courage and consolation to people struggling in their 40s. Even more, it is a confession to friends and the elderly who are walking on this path called life. How to deal with a rite of passage - the insecurities people have in their 40s - is shown through Goethe's life. In the book, Goethe tells us, "Don't worry about getting hurt and don't avoid change." By looking back on Goethe's works and his intense life, readers will get a map on how to sail forward without fear in the long and lonely voyage of life.
