The classical literature scholar, professor Jung Min, is one of the most noted humanities scholars in Korea for his work to revive the values embodied within traditional Korean literature in modern language. Known for his insightful and stylish writing style, his latest essays look back at his life and studies.
The moments that he does not want to, indeed, must not forget, from when when he firs became profession at 30 and up to his current age of 60, are recorded. There are conversations he had with old friends and late teachers or senior scholars. There is also the world of art from close artist friends, books that changed the direction of his life, and stories that bring joy and excitement to the ear.
This book is composed of 2 parts based on the topic. The first part, "People with Expressions," features stories and quotes of wisdom from old friends and elders. The second part, "Books with Scents," introduces books that gave insight to and stayed with professor Jung. At the end of the book are award acceptance speeches made by professor Jung. In addition, stories about his studies, wherein he made great contributions as a scholar through tens of books, and the stories behind how his books developed are described in the book.
The life of a person is a series of meetings. Good meetings raise one up, defining a boundary between the life of the past and the life of the present. A person from hundreds of years ago can influence the life a person living in the the present and bring about changes. Reading this book is a rich experience, filling a dull day with energy and clearing vagueness from the heart.

Jung Min
Jung Min (M) was born in Yeongdong, North Chungchung Province. He studied Korean Literature at Hanyang University and has continued on at his alma mater as a professor in the same department. He specializes in the knowledge management of intellectuals of the Joseon dynasty during the 18th century and images in Koreanology related to classic literature.
He has written books that describe the thoughts in ancient texts, including essay collections, The Sound of Reading Books and A Chinese Character Dictionary of Masters, and books that explore the beauty of Chinese poems, The Beauty of Chinese Poems and 300 Korean Poems in Classical Chinese. He has also written a book describing the poetic sentiments of Korean poems in classical Chinese about the four seasons, The Laughter of Flowers, and a Chinese poem introduction for children, Story of Chinese Poems with Jung Min.
