- Book Intro
-
This book looks at socialization, cultural exchanges, changes in culture, gender roles, becoming an adult, plays and festivals, marriage and family, types of authority, and the role of religion in human culture through a report prepared by an imaginary alien. In other words, it looks at what it means to be a member of society, the roles of men and women in the society, what it means to become an adult, why there are different marriage styles around the world, where authority comes from, and what the role of religion is. Answers to these questions are offered in the voice of an alien, who wants to settle on earth, in a way that is sometimes serious and sometimes funny.
