This book tells the story of the continuity of life through grasses which grow little by little every day.

Истории маленьких неприметных травинок, подсмотренные во время ежедневных прогулок в разные времена года. Тонко прорисованные картинки и тёплые слова автора раскрывают нам полный жизни мир городских трав и цветов, о существовании которого мы можем даже не подозревать, пока внимательно не присмотримся. На примере этих скромных растений, которые день за днём растут и тянутся вверх несмотря на то, что никто их даже не замечает, автор показывает нам, что простая, неприметная с виду жизнь наполнена прекрасным смыслом.

(English) A Bouquet of Grass from Yeonnam Brook

A Bouquet of Grass from Yeonnam Brook warmly describes the life of small patches of grass growing near Hongje Brook, along which the author takes walks throughout all four seasons. With her delicate illustrations and heart-felt writing, the author shows that there is life in grass that grows in the city, which we might fail to notice if we do not look at it carefully. By celebrating the life of the grass earnestly living its humble life, this book reveals its support for our everyday life, which, though it might not be splendid, is not ignorable, either. It also shows that life can be beautiful even if it is not the life of a big tree or fancy flower.

(Russian) Автор книги Чон Соён окончила кафедру изобразительных искусств университета Хоник и активно занимается живописью, а также содержит небольшое кафе вместе с мужем. Стараясь быть ближе к природе, художница при помощи красок и слов подчёркивает ценность простых вещей, красоты и всего живого. На иллюстрациях к её первой книге «Букет из трав с ручья Ённам» запечатлены растения, которые встретились ей во время ежедневных прогулок у ручья Хончже. Художница назвала этот ручей Ённам в честь района Сеула, где она жила.

(English) Author Jeon Soyoung majored in painting at Hongik University. She draws pictures while operating a small café with her husband. She always stays close to nature to feel and express the preciousness of small and humble things, living organisms and beautiful things in her writings and illustrations. The illustrations in her first book, A Bouquet of Grass from Yeonnam Brook, depict the grass she saw as she walked along Hongje Brook every day while living in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul. For her book, Jeon changed the brook's original name, "Hongje Brook" into "Yeonnam Brook" after the name of the neighborhood.
