Overview

This book is about first graders who overcome awkwardness and become good friends through a small incident.

Book Intro

(English) In The Elephant Is Stuck, Suzy has a best friend who is an elephant and the two have never been separated. On her first day of school, she secretly brings the elephant with her. But then the elephant gets stuck in the classroom door. Not knowing what to do, Suzy bursts into tears. Her teacher and classmates push the elephant with all their might but to no avail. Will the elephant free itself from the door and enter the classroom? Will Suzy survive her first day of school?

A new start is exciting for everyone, but at the same time, it can be daunting and scary. For children starting school, everything feels strange and complicated. Afraid of getting lost, they make their way to school, enter the classroom and find their seats with their eyes wide open. They must feel very nervous the whole time. Even a tiny mistake feels like a big problem like an elephant stuck in the door. Even a child who is usually confident quickly turns red in the face and bursts out crying. That is why we must look after children in this situation with extra care and affection. How they spend their first day of school can affect the rest of their school life.
