Tangerine
Tangerine is a stray cat. Whether he was born on the streets or ran away from home and got lost or was abandoned by his owners, but he’s now wandering alone. Then one day, he comes across a seaside village that smells unfamiliar.
According to Tangerine's past experiences, humans are dangerous and he shouldn’t go near them. They often scare, curse, and throw stones at stray cats like himself. But the humans of this neighborhood are very strange. Whenever they see Tangerine, they make conversation, approach, greet, and smile at him. Even when someone shouts, “Shoo! Get out of the way!” or throws a fish in front of him, Tangerine can feel their warmth like the spring sun. Tangerine wants to cuddle with the humans who casually tell him, "Come eat again tomorrow!" He wants to be part of this friendly neighborhood.
Tangerine teaches both children and adults how to approach someone who needs attention and care—as well as the fact that their warmth may renew someone's will to live. In addition, the book consoles those who need consolation now.
