In addition to the drawings of the first-generation Korean cartoonist Kim Yong-hwan, Korean fairy tales consist of something that may not be familiar such as ink paintings and oil paintings. The illustrations in the book include paintings by famous authors, the paintings that can be characterized by its poetic expressions of justice and kindness.
<The story of the Rabbit> is a novel about several animals. The sea dragon king became ill, but it is said that only the liver of a rabbit could be the medicine, so a loyal turtle comes out to land and seduces the rabbit.
<Young Governor> is a preceptive fairy tale about older officials looking down on a young governor base on the appearance and being punished. It teaches a lesson of not
judging a person based on the appearance.
<The Fox and the Traveler> is a story of a traveler who bravely survives several hurdles, such as meeting foxes and tigers in the mountains.
<The Nine-Headed Thief> is a story of a young man who has lost his wife to a nineheaded thief, defeats a strong thief, and rescues the people who were captured there.
It’s a fairy tale about evils being perished and the love of justice and peace triumphs.
