Students in Korean society tend to forget the fact that life itself consists of the effort and time invested in the process of becoming mature citizens. Kim Youngmin suggests a new perspective on how we look at the act of “studying.” Citing Oscar Wilde's famous quote “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars,” the author encourages us to look upward instead of downward. By turning our eyes upwards, we are capable of transforming ourselves into totally different individuals—individuals that pursue excellence.
