It is a fantasy novel about a romance between a crown prince and an ordinary young woman who has been reincarnated, which happens during a contemporary audition program to pick the wife of the crown prince.
Ibby Collins was an ordinary high school girl who liked romance stories that have to do with reincarnation and she is reborn as a waitress in the world of fantasy. She firmly believes that she has a role as an extra in this world of fantasy and lives her life, working as a waitress in her rural hometown of Folcus.
Angered by her boyfriend’s betrayal, she had applied for the Crown Princess Nomination Event and one day, like winning a lottery, she receives a notice that she had won a place in it. She takes part in it as the one-hundred-first nominee for the election of the Crown Princess.
As she takes part, she has to go through the predicament of a corrupt media attack, the jealousy and contempt of the other participants but along the way, she is able to make friends while becoming more mature. Hiding his true identity, the Crown Prince, Ikasha, who also takes part in the nomination, under the disguised name of Violet, becomes enamored with the honest and confident Ibby; at the same time, he himself undergoes a transformation.
But when it becomes apparent that Ibby is facing more and more difficulties to the point of her life being at risk in this event that the Crown Prince himself had planned and organized, he blames himself and makes an attempt to save her at a great sacrifice.
The nomination reaches a climax when the dual desires of the Crown Prince clash; that is, his wanting to keep Ibby at his side or letting her free in order to guarantee her safety.
