(English) Hyeonamsa is a publishing company with over 80 years of tradition. It was founded in 1945 and has published various books on subjects including law, the humanities, science, and genre literature, as well as children's books. Books made by Hyeonamsa have won the Korean President's Award; the Excellence Award for Liberal Arts Book from Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the Outstanding Environment Book Award from Korea's Ministry of Environment; the Excellent Science Book Award from Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT; the Bologna Ragazzi Award; and many others besides.
The company has established itself as a comprehensive publisher with offerings in a variety of genres, including The Complete Collection of Choi Nam-sun, A Collection of Korean Ideologies, Hyeonamshinseo, and books by renowned writers such as Lee O-young, Park Kyongni, and Hwang Sok-young. It also publishes liberal arts titles, ranging from classics and philosophy to science and literature, including the One Hundred Things We Need to Know series. It has also expanded into children's literature, experiencing critical acclaim both domestically and internationally.
