(English) Born in Busan, author Chun Youngmi spent her school life half-living in a comic book rental store in a book street of Bosu-dong. She majored in statistics in university, but her true interest has always been in Korean literature courses that were held in the same building. The fact that her university was located in Chungmuro made it easier for her to go to the Daehan Theater and the Seoul Theater and Piccadilly in Jongno. Upon graduation, she worked for a civic group for two years, and for the next 18 years as a scriptwriter for TV documentaries and educational shows, the latter experience providing a great opportunity to meet people from many different backgrounds and learn about the world and life. In 2020, when COVID-19 put a brake on our lives, she edited one of her scenarios during her break and won the Mega Box Award at the 22nd Seoul International Women’s Film Festival. She is a fearless writer who uses her unconventional mindset as a weapon. She is striving to make a living by writing.
