He is a head researcher at the Academy of Korean Studies and specializes in modern interpretations of East Asian natural philosophy and philosophical anthropology. He is the author of I Ching the Law of Humankind, and he is a co-author of The Dictionary for the Philosophy in Heart Mind Classic, and The Cosmic Theory and Philosophical Anthropology according to Neo-Confucianism. He also translated Elaborations on the Study of Mind and Heart (Simbyeong Balhwi) into modern Korean.
