Yoo Byeongseon was born in the city of Gangneung in Gangwon Province of South Korea, finished elementary and middle school in Jeongseon, went to Chuncheon High School, and graduated from Seoul National University with an Asian History degree in 1985. He worked as a reporter and a department head in the editing, international, and economics department at the Sunday Newspaper, Pyeonghwa Newspaper, and Kyunghyang Newspaper.Currently, he works as a editorial writer at the Kyunghyang Newspaper.
