Lim Yanghwan (M) graduated from Chung-Ang University's College of Arts with a degree in Photography. He earned his Ph.D in Picture Engineering at the graduate school of Chiba University in Japan. He was formerly professor in the Photography and Digital Contents department of Sangmyung University's College of Arts. Lim has held 10 solo exhibitions. He also served as the head judge for the Korean Air Photo Contest, the National Park Photo Contest, and the Street Photo Contest held by the Korea Expressway Corporation. He has visited mountains and fields throughout Korea, the Silk Road, the Tea Road, Mongolia, Nepal, India, and Bhutan to take photos. Books written by Lim include From Gum Print to Digital Negative: Special Photographic Printing Techniques, and Photographic Material. He has been in love with the natural scenery of Jeju Island since 1981. Lim decided to write this book because he felt sad that people only visit famous touristic spots for a short while.
