Yoon studied journalism at Ewha Woman's University. When she started writing, she began to study history and received many awards at several storytelling contests with her stories based on the historical facts that she learned from studying. Yoon was selected to be sponsored in creative writing by the Korea Creative Content Agency. She received a prize at the Hanwoori Young Adult Literature Award with her work Painters of the Night and received creative writing support funds from the GyeongGi Cultural Foundation. Her works include Here Comes Boys, Gyehwado Murder Case, A Quarantined Child, A Day of Part-Time Jobs, Standing in the Square (co-written), Protect Min-ju!, Long Live Korean Independence (co-written), Flashing Snowy Night, I Am Kim Su-ro from the India Kim Clan, A Typewriter that Brings Happiness, and Save My Forest.
