Won Jang-kyung studied electronics engineering before pivoting to literature, earning an MFA in screenwriting from Chugye University for the Arts. She has spent over a decade as a professional writer, teaching at universities and writing s for sitcoms, films, TV shows, and animations. Her novel I Am Human is among her notable works.​
