Lee Ganglae received a bachelor's degree in history and Ph.D. in Korean ancient history from Korea University in South Korea. He led the Society for Korean Ancient History and is currently a history professor at Chonnam National University in South Korea. His research focuses on the characteristics and formation of Korean ancient historical records and ancient Koreans’ way of thinking within the historical and intellectual context. He has authored A Study on Samguk Sagi, The Formation Theory of Samguk Sagi, and The Epistemology of Samguk Sagi.
