(English) Writer Chung Byungmo (M) is a professor of cultural heritage at Gyeongju University. With the belief that the genre with the highest chance of globalization in traditional Korean culture is folk painting, he has been studying Korean folk painting in museums around the world as well as private collections for the past 20 years. He planned and consulted various folk painting-related exhibitions, and he founded the Korean Folk Painting Society. He also undertook the roles of adviser and reviewer at the National Folk Museum of Korea and Seoul Museum of History.

He has written the books Genre Paintings of Korea, Art is a Beautiful Organism, Living Manners of the Four Seasons, Musical Genre Paintings from the Joseon Dynasty, and Rebellion of Nameless Painters. He also planned art brochures including Color Paintings of Korea.

(Japanese) 慶州大学文化財学科教授と博物館長を務め、文化財庁、ソウル市、慶尚北道、曹渓宗文化財専門委員を歴任。第1回チョ・ジャヨン文化賞(学術賞)を受賞。著書に『民画は民画だ』、『無名画家たちの反乱、民画』、『韓国の彩色画』などがある。
