Bang Hyeonseok (M) was born in Ulsan and studied Creative Writing at Joong-Ang University. He wrote the short story collections, The House Opening Tomorrow and Time for Lobsters, ​the novels When You Call My Name, For 10 Years, Your Left Side, Voyage at Dawn, and the essays "Beautiful Resistance" and "Stars at Hanoi." He won the Shin Dong-yup Creation Fund, O Yeong-soo Literary Award and Hwang Sun-won Literary Award, and he was the chairman for the Young Writers Association for Understanding Vietnam. He currently teaches students at his old school.
