Bang Hyeonseok (M) was born in Ulsan and studied Creative Writing at Joong-Ang University. He wrote the short story collections, The House Opening Tomorrow and Time for Lobsters, the novels When You Call My Name, For 10 Years, Your Left Side, Voyage at Dawn, and the essays "Beautiful Resistance" and "Stars at Hanoi." He won the Shin Dong-yup Creation Fund, O Yeong-soo Literary Award and Hwang Sun-won Literary Award, and he was the chairman for the Young Writers Association for Understanding Vietnam. He currently teaches students at his old school.
