In 1991 Chung Koodo began researching the No Gun Ri massacre to help his father, Chung Eunyong, write a fictional story based on his life. Chung Eunyong had been the head representative for the bereaved families of the No Gun Ri massacre victims. Since then, Chung Koodo has devoted his energy to telling the world the truth about the No Gun Ri massacre, contributing greatly to the establishment of the No Gun Ri Special Act and the project for the construction of the No Gun Ri Memorial Peace Park.
