Chung Eunyong was born in Yeongdong, Chungcheongbuk-do, in 1923. Chung lost a son and daughter in the No Gun Ri massacre, when the US military shot indiscriminately at civilians during the Korean War. From 1960 on, Chung devoted the rest of his life to uncovering the truth about the No Gun Ri massacre and telling the world about it.
