(English) Bae Hyun-ju majored in formative arts and graduated from the Graduate School of Design at Ewha Womans University. She went on to study illustration at the Hanguk Illustration School (HILLS). She received the 27th Korean Children’s Book Award for her first picture book, Seolbim (New Year’s Dress). She is the author and illustrator of the books Seolbim, I Will Hold You, and How Pangy Used His Tears, and she is the illustrator of Monkey Siblings, I Like Me, The Story We Met in the Woods, I Am Really Happy, and Knock Knock, Who Is It, Who?
