Kim was born in 1996 and studied at Yonsei University. Half of his day is spent preparing to write, while the other half is spent doing the actual writing. Kim hopes to write lighthearted fiction that can be a companion to his readers yesterday, today, and tomorrow. His publications include The Room Without an Owner, Reversal, and Caught, as well as the  essay collections, The Day I Couldn't Write about Love and The Jokes of an Author. Kim received the 2022 grand prize in the Korean Science Fiction Awards.
