The author was born in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, in 1961. He is a poet, journalist, storyteller, and calligrapher. Lee completed his Ph.D in cultural content at Konkuk University. He was a reporter for Cheil Worldwide, Chosun Ilbo, JoongAng Ilbo, editor-in-chief of Asia Economic Daily, and currently serves as the editor of Aju Economic Daily. He runs a Naver blog under the nickname "Empty Island." His books include 『Song of Nude Gimbap』, 『Newspapers, Editing the World』, 『The Joys of Old Study』,『Crazy for Chusa』, 『Tears Like Rain』, and 『One-Person Media, from Planning to Production』.
