Kay Jun studies, writes, and lectures about graphic
design in addition to running a publisher of photography books called Aprilsnow
Press based in Daegu. In 2017, she published her doctoral dissertation “A Study
on the Magazine Deep-rooted Tree: Focusing on the Relationship between Text and
Image.” Jun is interested in writing and publishing to fill the blanks in the
history of Korean graphic design. She is the author of Ten Art Directors of
the World and a collection of interviews titled Conversations on Open
Pages. She is the co-author of Ten Book Designers of the World and
planned Chung Byoung Kyoo Photobook Design, The XYZ of Korean
Exhibition Catalogues in the 1990s, and the Rhythm series that explores the
relationship between text and image through regionality. Jun oversaw the
exhibition “100 Films 100 Posters” for the 2025 Jeonju International Film
Festival.
