Dia membuat debutnya di Saga komik dengan karyanya 『Sage Road』, dan karyanya termasuk 『besok percobaan raja』 dan 『Taeguk Taeul』.

(English) Having dreamed of becoming a comic book writer after reading Taekwon V in his childhood, Hong Jong-hyun entered the Department of Cartoon Arts at Kongju National University in 1996 and studied cartoons systematically. Hong began his career as a cartoon artist with his work Sage Lord. The most well-known comic books created by Hong Jong-hyun include Tomorrow, I'm the Invention King; Tomorrow, I'm the Robot King and Taeguk Taeul.
