The venerable monk Jinwoo entered the Buddhist priesthood in 1972 and was initiated under the venerable monk Baekun in 1978. He practiced Samadhi meditation at Cheongryang Center of Sangwon Temple, Odaesan Mountain and at Mongseung Center of Yongheung Temple in Damyang. He was the head monk of Baekyang Temple in Jangseong. Following it, he has served important roles at the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. He is currently the president of the Bulgyo Newspaper and dedicates himself to disseminating Buddha’s teaching with many people. 

He started Mongsong Meditation Center at Yongheung Temple ten years ago and he began writing every day after his morning prayer chant in the clearest state of mind with the goal of examining his progress and reinforcing his dedication to the path of Enlightenment.
