Born in Seoul, she studied English literature. She made her literary debut in 2006 when her work won the New Writers’ Contest of Gyeongin Ilbo. Her books include the novels Are We Family?, Meeting That Child, The One-Table Restaurant, My Name Is Stella, 50 Days of Summer, and A Child More Unhappy Than Me.​
