(English) Having received his PhD in classical poetry from Korea University, Lee is presently teaching at Chosun University in the Department of Korean Language and Literature. His main field of expertise is classical poetry, but he is also interested in modern interpretation and categorization of classical records. He published A Study of Collection of Songs and Verses from the Late Joseon Dynasty, and coauthored An Annotated Transcription of Songs of Green Hills the Kim Cheontaek Version and Bibliographical Notes on Published Classical Sijo.
