Park Dae-jae is a professor of Korean history at Korea University, where he teaches ancient Korean history. He earned his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Korean history from Korea University and has previously served as a professor of history and philosophy at the Korea Air Force Academy, a researcher at the National Institute of Korean History, and a visiting scholar at several international institutions, including the Korean Studies Institute at the University of Southern California (USC), Waseda University (Japan), University of Naples L’Orientale (Italy), and Université Paris Cité (formerly Paris Diderot University, France). Park’s major publications include Consciousness and War: A New Perspective on Ancient States, Kings and Wars in Early Ancient Korea, Ancient Joseon and Yemaek in Chinese Classical Texts, An Introduction to Korean Historical Studies, Samguk Yusa (co-translated), Ancient Korean Culture and Northeast China (co-authored), and Annotated Collection of Historical Sources on Gojoseon (co-translated).
