Kim Taejun graduated from the Department of Korean Language and Literature at Dongguk University and received a doctorate in literature from the University of Tokyo. He served as a professor at Dongguk University from 1986 to 2005. Kim is currently an emeritus professor at Dongguk University. His books include A Critical Biography of Hong Daeyong and An East Asian Perspective on Korean Literature.
